Job description

The Huntsville Havoc are seeking a highly organized, driven Merchandise Intern to join our Merchandise team. This internship is ideal for a current college students or recent graduates pursuing a career in sports merchandise, retail, and e-commerce operations.
This role plays a key part in generating revenue, visual merchandising, and ensuring our fans receive measurable value and first-class service. This position is a paid position of a stipend per game day or special event (such as Watch Party's, Jersey Reveals, etc.). If an intern needs school credit, they can receive hours.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Season Responsibilities
  • Assist with inventory receiving, organization, and transfers from warehouse to team store
  • Prepare merchandise areas for the season including setup and stocking product
  • Coordinate local non-profit organizations participating in our Merchandise Kiosk Fundraiser
  • Assist with visual merchandising at our team store in preparation for the new season

Game Day Responsibilities
  • Assist with game day and special event set up and breakdown
  • Handle cash and POS transactions accurately and professionally
  • Maintain and organize visual displays regarding inventory stock during game days and special events
  • Serve as the primary contact on game days for Merchandise Kiosk Fundraiser participants

Daily/Post-Game Responsibilities
  • Assist with online order fulfillment for both shipping & pick-up orders
  • Assist with customer service follow up
  • Maintain product listings and inventory levels through Shopify
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing merchandise storage areas such as team store and warehouse
  • Assist with promoting merchandise releases and special events through social media and marketing
  • Assist with other tasks within the front office as needed

Qualifications
  • Current college student or have received their Bachelor's degree required in Sports Management, Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Must be able to commit to full internship starting in August through the end of play-offs (late April/early May)
  • Must be available to work the week of Black Friday (November 23rd-29th) as well as the month of December
  • Must be able to move and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-driven and relationship-oriented
  • Willing to work all home games and special events including weekends & holidays
