Overall Role Description:
The Retail.com & Online Merchandising Director owns Duracell's online merchandising execution and growth strategy across top retail.com platforms, and serves as Duracell's subject matter expert (SME) for Retail.com strategy and Omni-Channel customers, by focusing on:

  • Top Retail.com ownership: Amazon, Walmart, Hardware channel, and Costco - driving content, assortment, and retail media excellence across the digital shelf.
  • Retail.com strategy & SME leadership: Initiating and scaling Retail.com strategy and plans for Omni-Channel customers, serving as the go-to subject matter expert for the broader sales organization.
  • Content & PDP excellence: Continually improving content and copy on product detail pages (PDPs) across the market to drive conversion and share of search.
  • Team leadership & upskilling: Leading and developing Retail.com & Online Merchandising, while upskilling Omni-Channel team members' digital acumen.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in e-commerce, online merchandising, or digital account management within CPG or retail.
  • Demonstrated experience managing retailer.com platforms (e.g., Walmart.com, Costco.com) and/or Amazon online merchandising.
  • Experience with content syndication platforms and PDP optimization tools.
  • Working knowledge of retail media platforms, budgeting, and measurement/MMM principles.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong and adaptable interpersonal skills to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize across multiple retail accounts.
  • Communication (written and verbal): Persuasive, clear and concise communication with multiple levels of management internally and externally is essential.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills to partner across Sales, Digital CoE, Retail Marketing, and

To achieve this, the role will focus on:

  • Own online merchandising execution across Core (Omni-Channel) and Online-only assortment for top Retail.com accounts.
  • Lead and develop the Retail.com & Online Merchandising team covering Target, Office, Food, Quick Commerce, Discount, and Drug channels.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the Digital CoE and Sales leaders to activate syndicated content and the AI-enabled tech stack across retailer PDPs.

The Retail.com & Online Merchandising Director will:

  • Own content/copy updates (above/below fold) and ratings & reviews programs (e.g., BazaarVoice) across retail.com platforms.
  • Own Retail Media budgeting and execution on/off retail.com platforms, partnering with Retail Marketing on measurement and MMM.
  • Lead Core Range (online-only) and 3P/new fulfillment strategy (e.g., WFS), partnering with Omni-Channel Sales Leads on Core Range - Omni-Channel decisions.
  • Own trade flow, promo planning/execution/measurement, and demand planning inputs for online-only assortment.
  • Partner with the SRM team on price/pack architecture for retail.com platforms.
  • Leverage the Digital CoE's syndication/AI technology stack to optimize PDPs and drive AI-discoverability across retailer touchpoints.
  • Maintain brand store presence where applicable, partnering with Retail Marketing on brand strategy alignment.
  • Partner with the Amazon & Pure Play sales team on cross-channel assortment, pricing, and promotional consistency.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing Retail.com & Online Merchandising team, upskilling digital acumen across Omni-Channel team members.
  • Ensure all E-Commerce merchandising activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and retailer platform policies.
