Position OverviewBurlington is seeking a self-driven and highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team with a passion for data, software, and engineering. At Burlington you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in a goal-oriented environment.
As an IT architect, you will define and govern the enterprise-wide data architecture, ensuring that data models, pipelines, metadata, and integrations are scalable, interoperable. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, develop detailed data architectural designs, and ensure the integration of systems and technologies. Additionally, you will mentor junior architects, assist in their professional growth, and participate in the continuous improvement of data architectural practices.A Day in the Life

This role is essential for the delivery of robust and scalable data architecture solutions for Enterprise-wide project and platforms.

Lead the design and implementation ofend-to-end dataarchitecture

  • Design end-to-end data architecture to support analytics, AI,MLand operational systems

  • Create andmaintainconceptual,logical,and physical data models across business domains.

  • Establish data modeling standards, naming conventions, lineage rules, and metadata frameworks.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Architecture to define integration patterns and system interoperability.

  • Ensure alignment with governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Advise AI and ML teams on semantic modeling, feature store design, and future knowledge graph adoption.

Develop detailed architectural designs

  • Create high-level and low-leveldata modeldiagrams and documentation.

  • Define system components, data flow, APIs, and service interactions.

  • Review andvalidatearchitecture and design artifacts with developers, testers, and security teams

Mentor junior architects andassistin their professional growth

  • Provide guidance on architectural methods, tools, and standards.

  • Supportdata architecture relatedskill development through coaching, training, and shadowing.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Participate in the continuous improvement of architectural practices

  • Contributesto the evolution ofdataarchitecturestandards and governance.

  • Identifyand propose improvements to design methodologies and processes.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential adoption.

You'll Come With

Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Licenses/Certification/Registration:TOGAF Certification preferred

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of architectural design techniques and tools.

  • Proficiencyin system integration and technology alignment.

  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Leads the creation and review of a systems capability strategy aligned with business requirements. Develops roadmaps for enterprisedataarchitecture and initiatives, ensuring stakeholder buy-in.

  • Supports the communication of strategic plans and related change initiatives to relevant stakeholders.

  • Contributes to the collection and analysis of information to support strategy development.

  • Designs system components usingappropriate modellingtechniques following agreeddataarchitecturedesign standards,patternsandmethodology.

  • Manages andfacilitatesthe communication and open flow of creative ideas between interested parties and the set-up of innovation networks and communities.

  • Develops and adapts innovation tools,processesand infrastructures to drive the process of innovation.Identifiesresources and capabilities needed to support innovation.

  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways to all levels of the organization.
