About The Opportunity

As a Sr Analyst - Merchant Network Strategy & Analytics you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that directly impact strategic decision-making and drive business growth. You will also be the architect of a connected ecosystem of dashboards and reports that empower teams across the business to move faster, smarter, and more confidently. This involves executing advanced analyses, improving reporting processes, and collaborating closely with senior leadership to address critical business challenges.

You will work with cross-functional teams to optimize business performance, implement strategic initiatives, and ensure that business decisions are backed by robust data analysis and reliable 'source of truth' reporting and metrics. Your work will have a direct impact on fostering growth and operational efficiency as well as influencing how key projects are executed and ensuring that the organization stays competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

You will primarily support the Merchant Network team, who is responsible for signing, onboarding, retaining, and growing restaurant partners on Grubhub.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Analyze Complex Data -Sets: Perform sophisticated analytics to understand critical drivers of business performance, including fraud prevention, customer care, and logistics operations. Leverage your analytical curiosity to proactively uncover data trends, anomalies, and other key insights that can help the company grow faster, reduce costs, and increase profitability.

  • Build and Maintain Dashboard Ecosystems: Develop and manage a connected ecosystem of dashboards and reports across platforms such as Tableau and Redash. Ensure seamless integration and data consistency to support company-wide consumption.

  • Support Cross-Functional Business Leaders: Collaborate with leaders to address business challenges, providing insightful analysis to help them understand the financial implications of their strategies and decisions. Present your findings and recommendations in clear, actionable formats, working with stakeholders to ensure that data-driven solutions are incorporated into business strategies. Influence key decisions with high-quality analysis and insights.

  • Transform Business Requirements into Actionable Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive, data-driven dashboards and reporting solutions. Ensure outputs are tailored to drive strategic and operational decisions.

  • Monitor and Report on KPIs: Take ownership of preparing, tracking, monitoring and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular, recurring cadence.. Investigate variances and anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings to Leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Develop and Maintain Financial Models: Design and implement financial models to support key strategic initiatives across various departments. Provide data-driven insights that help guide decision-making related to resource allocation, cost optimization, and performance improvement.

  • Maintain a Central Source of Truth: Establish, document, and maintain a "Source of Truth" for company-wide metrics. Drive consistency in metric definitions, data sources, and reporting methodologies across the organization.

  • Drive Reporting Automation and Scalability: Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting tasks and streamline dashboard creation. Build scalable reporting frameworks and reusable templates to support future business growth. Work to optimize reporting tools, dashboards, and data collection methods, ensuring that data presented to stakeholders is both accurate and timely.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Look for opportunities to improve data processes, enhance reporting efficiency, and increase the overall impact of analytical outputs.

  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Act as a mentor for junior analysts, helping them to refine their skills and grow within the role. Foster a collaborative environment where analytical best practices are shared across teams and departments.

  • Stay Ahead of Market Trends: Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to refine analyses and make proactive recommendations that help the company stay competitive and innovative.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a Data, Business Intelligence, or Analytics role, with a proven track record of leading advanced data analyses and providing actionable insights that inform strategic business decisions, and a demonstrated ability to develop impactful dashboards and reporting tools that drive business decision-making.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree or certifications in data science, business analytics, or related areas is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Familiarity with data modeling, cleaning, and transformation best practices.

  • Exposure to Python for data analysis, modeling & automation, analysis, and data pipeline optimization is preferred.

  • Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and forecasting is a plus.

  • Comfortable balancing speed and accuracy while developing scalable reporting solutions.

  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and analysis processes.

  • Analytical Expertise: Expertise in interpreting complex data sets and delivering clear, actionable insights.
