Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to join our expanding team, supporting high-profile commercial MEP projects across the Greater Seattle, WA Area. This position offers excellent career development potential within the design-build construction industry, giving you hands-on exposure to estimating, scheduling, project coordination, and design support.


Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Technical Support
  • Collaborate with internal departments (purchasing, accounting, engineering, fabrication, legal, and construction) to ensure all project requirements are clearly communicated and followed.
  • Partner with the purchasing team to confirm pricing, submittals, and delivery schedules for materials and equipment.
  • Facilitate the coordination of installation procedures between the engineering and construction teams to align fieldwork with design intent.
  • Assist in monitoring job progress, helping troubleshoot installation challenges, and applying your technical expertise to resolve field issues efficiently.
Documentation & Administrative Support
  • Manage daily project documentation, including:
    • RFIs, daily logs, purchase orders, submittals, procurement logs, and method of procedure (MOP) documents.
  • Track labor hours, material deliveries, and project costs, providing real-time updates to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with developing forecasts and ensure project budgets reflect actual and anticipated costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and organized files, ensuring project documentation is easily accessible and up-to-date.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Attend project kick-off meetings, progress meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
  • Communicate directly with subcontractors, vendors, and installers to ensure project goals, schedules, and expectations are understood and followed.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers, contributing to a collaborative project environment.
Project Oversight & Field Support
  • Participate in job site visits, project walks, and installation inspections, ensuring design and quality standards are upheld.
  • Collaborate with field teams to troubleshoot design challenges and coordinate solutions between office and site personnel.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by recommending efficiencies and refining internal procedures as needed.

QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a project engineering or project coordination role, ideally within MEP construction or design-build environments.
Skills:
  • Familiarity with MEP systems, construction drawings, and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms or project tracking tools (like Bid Tracer) is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface professionally with project stakeholders at all levels.
