Job description

The City is looking for an effective, organized, and team oriented professional Capital Project Engineer to manage capital projects from design through construction and play a major role in the development of a thriving, diverse community.

Recruitment information:
  • The first round of applications will be reviewed on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 5:00 pm.

  • Default schedule will be the following: 5/8's

  • Note: This position will be fully onsite for the first six months, after which eligibility for a hybrid work schedule may be considered.

What will you do in this position?
  • Manage the design, development, and completion of public works capital projects by working and collaborating with private consultants
  • Manage construction projects including the design, construction, engineering, right-of-way, utilities, and roadway
  • Develops project objectives, work scope, cost estimates, and schedules
  • Review and facilitate the review of engineering design and analysis
A successful candidate in this position will:
  • Work together with the Bothell Community and Departments to cultivate strong and successful partnerships.
  • Quickly identify challenges and apply logical, evidence-based approaches to resolve them. Learn and adapt to new tools and systems with ease to support work efficiency. Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally across a variety of settings. Strengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance collective success. Integrate feedback constructively to improve efficiency and service quality.
