As a Senior Project Architect at Ware Malcomb, you will support in the delivery of innovative design projects to diverse clients through all phases.  You will collaborate with Project Managers to ensure technical responsibilities are met and will play a key role in delivering high-quality drawings while coordinating with internal and external teams. Through exceptional leadership and client service, you will manage project schedules, facilitate team collaboration, and mentor team members on best practices to achieve successful project outcomes. Your expertise in contract document management and attention to detail will drive project success.
Your Role
  • Responsible for the contract drawings from start to finish.
  • Working with the Project Manager, prepares a projection of the project's schedule and deadlines.
  • Oversees clash management on complex project types.
  • Provides construction administration services (Site visits, review shop drawings, etc.).
  • Responsible for local, county, state, and federal project code searches and analysis.
  • Represent WM at required jurisdiction public design review or development approval meetings in the absence of the Project Manager, and make project presentations when required.
  • Works with the QC studio and/or peer reviewer to review all contract documents prior to issuance.
  • Assist the office lead or studio lead and Project Manager in assembling the consultant team for the project as required (Identify scope of work, collect fees, select consultants, and facilitate contracts).
  • Working with the Ware Malcomb contracted consultants (Typical team: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Landscape) and the client's consultants (Typical: civil, geotechnical, and signage), coordinate all of the various trades to achieve a complete, coordinated set of contract documents and specifications which will be used for building permits and construction.
  • Responsible for technical success and the quality of the drawings.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in the field of Architecture
  • Experience in a project architect role, or equivalent that maintains AIA, NCARB, ADA, CASp, LEED, and/or WELL certifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Well versed in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
