How much does an MEP engineer get paid?

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineer's salary varies based on experience, location, and industry, but typically ranges from $60,000 to $120,000 annually. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced engineers with specialized skills or certifications can earn higher salaries, especially in large projects or urban areas.

What does an MEP engineer do?

An MEP engineer designs, plans, and oversees the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings. They ensure these systems meet safety, efficiency, and building code standards, often using design software like AutoCAD or Revit. MEP engineers collaborate with architects and construction teams throughout project development and execution.

Is 40 too late to be an engineer?

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineer can pursue the profession at any age, as the field values skills, experience, and certifications over age. Many engineers start or transition into the field later in life, and continuous learning through courses or licensure exams can support career entry or advancement regardless of age.

What are MEP Engineers?
