Position Summary
Ace Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Modeler to support electrical construction projects through advanced 3D modeling, coordination, and construction documentation.
This role is responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D electrical models using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks to support QA/QC teams, project supervision, electrical designers, engineers, and field personnel. The BIM Modeler plays a key role in clash detection, MEP coordination, constructability reviews, and fabrication support for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
The BIM Modeler reports directly to the BIM Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical BIM models and construction drawings using Revit and Navisworks
  • Create and revise fabrication and construction drawings
  • Convert 2D drawings into coordinated 3D electrical models
  • Support MEP coordination and clash detection efforts
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings with contractors and project teams
  • Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, QA/QC, and field operations teams
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Maintain project documentation and model revisions
  • Assist with project visualization and presentation efforts when needed
  • Communicate updates and revisions effectively to project stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM Collaborate Pro, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and construction documentation
  • Understanding of MEP systems and electrical layouts
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and shop drawings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with NEC codes is a plus
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required

Education & Experience
  • Associate degree from a technical school or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of BIM Modeling experience preferred
  • Experience in electrical construction, MEP coordination, or commercial construction environments preferred

Work Environment
This is primarily an office-based role with occasional field/site visits.
Employees may periodically work in:
  • Construction environments
  • Restricted or confined spaces
  • Outdoor weather conditions depending on project needs

PPE is required during site visits.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and fingers for computer-based work
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites when necessary
  • Ability to hear and see clearly with or without correction
