Job description:
Position: Mental Health Technician II - Part Time (15hr / week)
Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana's largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children-both uninsured and insured-integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.
Position Purpose:
To provide technical psychiatric mental health services to adults, which are directed toward:
1. Assistance in maintaining daily routines while clients are hospitalized or in a residential or day treatment setting.
2. Providing skills and support to enable clients to regain coping abilities and prevent further disability.
3. Creating a therapeutic milieu to facilitate treatment.
Essential Function:
• Documentation
• Implement and Monitor
• Instruct in Activities of Daily Living, if applicable
• Conduct educational groups, if applicable
• Implement emergency interventions to stop or limit the escalation of psychiatric symptoms.
• Medication, if applicable
• Medication Monitoring, if applicable
• Trainer/lead responsibilities
• Transports clients as required safely and on time, if applicable
• Completes Medicaid required transportation documents for eligible clients for each trip, if applicable

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in related field
OR
1 semester of nursing clinicals completed
OR
Associate degree from Medical Assistant training program that is accredited by ABHES (Accredited Bureau of Health Education)
If you education is an associate degree from a Medical Assistant program: Certification is required
Certified Medical Assistant/CMA (certify by the American Association of Medical Assistants) or Registered by the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• Two years' experience in a human service field preferred
Shift Details: Part-time, 15 hours per week; (9am - 9pm)
