Mental Health Technician (MHT) Position Summary:

We are currently seeking full-time night shift Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to support our patients. As a member of the treatment team, the MHT provides continuous care, supervision, and therapeutic engagement to patients. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment while serving as a positive role model for patients.

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and establishing and maintaining good health by using effective, therapeutic communication techniques.
  • Conduct environmental rounds on unit for safety and document observations
  • Facilitate patients’ participation in therapeutic activities and groups.
  • Implement crisis management skills as directed by licensed staff.

 Mental Health Technician (MHT) Shifts:

  • Day Shift 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Certifications: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
