Job description

Technician – Inventory Control / NAND Test Lab Operations

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA — 100% Onsite
Work Arrangement: In Office — No Remote/Hybrid

Position Overview

We are seeking a NAND Test Lab Operations Support Technician to provide hands-on operational and technical support for semiconductor memory test equipment and related tooling. This role will support equipment setup, material processing, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, inventory control, and data collection.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Advantest and Teradyne semiconductor test systems, automated handlers, tester diagnostics, calibration, interface hardware, and semiconductor memory testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily operational support for NAND/semiconductor test lab equipment.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Advantest testers and M67xx-series automated handlers.
  • Operate Teradyne Nextest Magnum tester systems.
  • Set up tester/handler interface hardware for temperature-controlled testing.
  • Install and configure Change Kits, DSAs, load boards, sockets, and device-specific tooling.
  • Troubleshoot handler pick-and-place errors and tester failures down to the board level.
  • Perform tester diagnostics, voltage/timing calibration, thermal calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot tester chiller and facility chilled-water systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance using RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) metrics.
  • Maintain equipment, tooling, calibration, material, and inventory records.
  • Track interface hardware using inventory management systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and maintain accurate operational documentation.
  • Create troubleshooting guides, process flowcharts, and work instructions.
  • Support material movement and lab workflow from incoming through outgoing stages.
  • Train engineering and test-development users on equipment and tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, management, and OEM teams.
  • Support continuous improvement, equipment uptime, efficiency, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Hands-on semiconductor test lab or semiconductor manufacturing/test experience.
  • Advantest semiconductor test equipment experience.
  • Advantest M67xx-series automated handler experience.
  • Teradyne Nextest Magnum or comparable memory tester experience.
  • Semiconductor memory tester architecture and hardware configuration knowledge.
  • Tester diagnostics, calibration, and board-level troubleshooting.
  • Handler setup, Change Kits, DSAs, and interface hardware.
  • Preventive maintenance and thermal calibration experience.
  • Voltage and timing calibration based on OEM specifications.
  • Tester chiller/process chilled-water troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of RAM/equipment performance metrics.
  • Strong laboratory safety and hazardous-material handling knowledge.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Skills
  • NAND, DRAM, Flash, or semiconductor memory testing experience.
  • Additional Advantest platforms such as B6700, V93K, or T5835.
  • Experience with semiconductor OEM equipment vendors.
  • Semiconductor product development or engineering lab experience.
  • Knowledge of load boards, sockets, adapters, and device-specific tooling.
  • Equipment inventory and laboratory workflow management experience.
  • Experience creating troubleshooting documentation and work instructions.
  • Equipment utilization, downtime, and RAM reporting experience.
  • Continuous improvement and cost-reduction experience.
  • Ability to train engineers/test-development personnel.
Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field is preferred.
