Your Role & Impact
As our Memory Care Activity Coordinator, you will work closely with the Memory Care Director to create a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful daily experience within our Traditions neighborhood.
You will help transform each day into opportunities for residents to connect, participate, laugh, create, move, reminisce, and experience a sense of accomplishment and belonging.
Your responsibilities include:
  • Helping create and facilitate a diverse calendar of meaningful activities designed around the interests, abilities, and life experiences of our Memory Care residents.
  • Leading music, art, games, exercise, sensory experiences, educational programs, social gatherings, clubs, movies, celebrations, and other creative programming.
  • Helping coordinate excursions, special events, entertainers, guest speakers, and memorable experiences inside and outside the community.
  • Encouraging participation while recognizing that every resident is unique and finding creative ways to help each individual feel included.
  • Developing genuine relationships with residents and learning their interests, histories, preferences, and personalities so programming can become more personal and meaningful.
  • Creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, energy, laughter, dignity, and purpose.
  • Communicating with kindness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and fellow team members.
  • Working collaboratively with caregivers, clinical teams, culinary staff, and other departments to create exceptional resident experiences.
  • Safely driving community vehicles for resident outings and excursions.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, team members, and guests.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of experience coordinating, leading, or teaching activities with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  • Willingness to learn and understand the unique needs of individuals living with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
  • Must meet applicable health, safety, background, and regulatory requirements.
