Reports To: Assistant Centre Director


ABOUT US.

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. The ministry is made up of two operating entities: Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI.

POSITION SUMMARY.

The Member & Guest Services Associate serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and prospective members of The Christian Family Centre. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operation of the Member Services Desk.

In addition to providing outstanding service, this position actively supports membership growth and retention by building relationships with prospective and existing members, conducting facility tours, promoting Centre programs and services, and assisting individuals in selecting memberships and programs that best meet their needs. The Member & Guest Services Associate plays an important role in helping The Centre fulfill its mission by connecting people to opportunities for physical, social, and spiritual wellness.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

Member & Guest Services
  • Welcome members, guests, and visitors with professionalism, hospitality, and Christ-centered service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for questions regarding memberships, programs, services, facility amenities, and daily operations.
  • Process member check-ins, guest registrations, membership applications, and facility access.
  • Assist members with account updates, program registrations, reservations, and general service requests.
  • Resolve routine member concerns and elevate complex issues to leadership as appropriate.

Membership Sales & Retention

  • Develop positive relationships with prospective and current members to promote engagement and long-term retention.
  • Conduct facility tours and effectively communicate the mission, benefits, memberships, programs, and services offered by The Centre.
  • Assist prospective members in selecting memberships, programs, and services that best meet their individual or family needs.
  • Process new memberships, membership changes, renewals, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
  • Promote Centre programs, events, personal training, aquatics, childcare, sports, and other services to increase participation and member engagement.
  • Support membership growth, retention, and customer service goals established by Centre leadership.
Administrative & Financial Support
  • Maintain accurate member records and protect the integrity of membership databases.
  • Process membership agreements, waivers, registrations, and other required documentation.
  • Accurately process cash, checks, credit card transactions, and daily balancing procedures in accordance with Centre policies.
  • Complete general administrative duties including filing, reporting, data entry, copying, and document preparation.
  • Support daily opening, closing, and operational procedures for the Member Services Desk.
Centre Operations
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Centre programs, classes, memberships, events, promotions, and policies.
  • Assist with special events, facility promotions, membership drives, and community outreach initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Member Services area.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other Centre departments as operational needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS.

Christian Faith & Character
  • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to servant leadership.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, recreation, membership services, or administrative support preferred.
  • Sales or relationship-building experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and confidently recommend memberships, programs, and services.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn membership management and point-of-sale software.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.


EMPLOYMENT TERMS.

  • This position is classified as part-time, hourly, non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Employees are required to accurately record all hours worked.
  • Typical work schedules include a combination of mornings, afternoons, evenings, rotating Saturdays, holidays, and special events based on operational needs.
  • Regular, reliable, and on-site attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including background screening and adherence to the Lenawee Christian Ministries Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Commitment.
