Job Summary:

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Medtrans, you will be responsible for providing essential pre-hospital care to individuals in need. You will respond to calls, assess patient conditions, administer basic life support (BLS), and transport patients to medical facilities. Your role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of the community by delivering timely and effective medical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient conditions, determine the nature of the condition, and prioritize treatment.
  • Perform necessary medical procedures such as CPR, wound care, splinting, and oxygen administration.
  • Provide compassionate and effective care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Monitor vital signs and document patient conditions accurately.
  • Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during patient transport.
  • Safely operate an ambulance and transport patients to hospitals or other medical facilities.
  • Ensure the ambulance is stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle.
  • Accurately complete patient care reports (PCRs) and other necessary documentation.
  • Report observations and care provided to the receiving medical facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Current EMT certification in California.
    • BLS Provider Card from American Heart Association.
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
    • Ambulance Driver’s License.
    • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as an EMT is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in customer service or healthcare is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
    • Physical stamina and ability to lift/carry patients and equipment.
