Staff Accountant
Location: Southwoods Executive Centre - Boardman, OH
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
Southwoods Health is seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance department in Boardman, Ohio. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our various organizations by preparing accurate financial reports that track assets, liabilities, profit and loss statements, tax liabilities, and other critical financial activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely periodic (monthly) and year-end financial statements.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, manage the fixed asset program, and ensure accurate tracking of associated schedules and entries.
  • Cost Accounting: Perform general cost accounting duties and assist in budget analysis.
  • Accounts Payable Verification: Conduct internal audits of accounts payable invoices to ensure proper account allocation and timely payment.
  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, procedures, and ethical business conduct standards.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, vendors, and internal departments; participate actively in department meetings.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all company financial information and processes.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: One or more years of general accounting experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting, cost accounting principles, and GAAP.
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient with accounting software (e.g., Meditech, Sage Intacct experience a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
