What is a Medication Assistance Program?

A Medication Assistance Program (MAP) is a service designed to help individuals access prescription medications at little or no cost. These programs are often offered by pharmaceutical companies, nonprofit organizations, or government agencies to assist those who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial hardship. Eligibility requirements vary, but typically include proof of income and lack of adequate insurance coverage. By providing access to essential medications, MAPs help improve health outcomes and reduce barriers to treatment for those in need.
