Medicare Products Representative

Location: Birmingham, AL

**Please note this is a seasonal position from September 1 to March 31.  The work schedule is Wednesdays through Sundays from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm until the end of 2026 and then shifting to Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on the first day of 2027 until the end of March.    

Job Summary:

The Medicare Products Representative will support the Medicare Sales team with sales and retention efforts. This position will assist the team in reaching departmental sales goals by screening prospective members and setting in-home, group, and phone appointments. This individual will participate in retention and quality campaigns to educate and retain current members.

The Medicare Products Representative performs all job functions within the framework of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) marketing guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sales leads by contacting Medicare-eligible individuals via inbound and outbound (due to Business Response Card response) phone calls to explain the plan benefits and screen for eligibility.
  • Qualify leads with regard to eligibility and current insurance situation.
  • Assist prospects in gaining and maintaining eligibility for Extra Help and Low Income Subsidies.
  • Input records of appointments and contact information into the Medicare Sales Department’s CRM software.
  • Support various departments at VIVA HEALTH including but not limited to Sales and Marketing, Provider Services, Quality Improvement, Medicare Enrollment, and Medicare Member Services through sales, retention, and quality campaigns.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all Company and CMS regulations concerning the sales and solicitation process.
  • Maintain knowledge of VIVA MEDICARE products to service customer needs appropriately.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience in Public Relations/Service, Marketing, or Health Insurance
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment with minimal supervision
  • Enthusiasm and patience to educate Medicare beneficiaries with clear and accurate information.
  • Ability to learn, self-educate, and maintain a thorough knowledge of VIVA MEDICARE products, Medicare marketing requirements, CMS, and the Alabama Medicaid System
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure projects and goals are accomplished, correct information is provided to Medicare-eligible individuals, and proper feedback is consistently supplied to management
  • Possess technical skills sufficient to operate a desktop, CRM software, and other web/computer-based programs
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and work effectively in a variety of settings
