The Sanitation Supervisor To ensure the development, implementation, overview, and maintenance of the firm’s SQF System, including but not limited to the company’s SSOP program, master sanitation program, Environmental Monitoring Program etc.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Follows and enforces employee’s safety procedures.
  2. Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
  3. Follow, Monitor, and Enforce all food safety procedures.
  4. Follows and enforces SQF requirements (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP’s, and ETC)
  5. Follows and enforces USDA & FDA guidelines and regulations. 
  6. Follow Company Policies, Regulations, and Lunch & Break Policies

Position Area Duties (1-20 listed below)

  1. Follows and enforces the company’s new and existing equipment cleaning SSOP’s.
  2. Provide coaching and training for direct reports to ensure their good understanding of the company’s SSOP, SQF program.
  3. Hold team accountable to expectations and take action when warranted.
  4. Identify and address Sanitation challenges/areas for improvements (i.e., sanitary equipment design)
  5. Evaluate staffing of team; make changes as necessary.
  6. Set expectations and monitor the performance of direct reports; take action when warranted.
  7. Manage attendance, scheduling, and discipline of direct reports.
  8. Lead and oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the firm’s SSOP program and SQF Code sanitation requirements.
  9. Work with the philosophy of continuous improvement. 
  10. Manage resolution of night shift NRs, including writing response in conjunction with FSQA Manager
  11. Direct liaison with night shift FSIS-USDA inspectors and initiates immediate and effective solutions regarding sanitation-related issues at nights.
  12.  Lead resolution of sanitation verifications including but not limited to the following programs:
    1. APC’s swab testing results
    2. ATP’s swab testing results
    3. Listeria Control Program
    4. Allergen Management Program
    5. Environmental Monitoring Program 
  13. Initiate immediate corrective actions when results from the company’s sanitation verification programs are out of specifications including conducting risk assessments to identify possible root cause (s) 
  14. Follow and enforce the company’s master sanitation schedule.
  15. Organize and lead weekly sanitation meetings to give the operations/maintenance and QA updates on active and future projects.
  16. Maintain the company’s SSOP program including all individual equipment SOP’s.  
  17. Partner with operations to identify sanitation service improvement opportunities.
  18. Keep communication channels open at all times by issuing daily reports and by replying to e mails sent by all departments. 
  19. Manage the company’s “Waste Management Program”, Sanitation Supplies, and Sanitation Cleaning Chemicals etc. 
  20. Participate on the company’s Internal Audits 

 

Requirements and Duties:

  1. Knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s required for employee practices in a USDA Establishment.
  2. Strong knowledge on sanitation and sanitation related fields 
  3. Strong knowledge of Listeria and Listeria control methods and regulations 
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic communication tools
  5. Ability to analyze and make decisions.
  6. Functional bilingualism (ability to speak and/or understand English and Spanish) a strong asset.
  7. Energetic, Committed, Flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Strong knowledge of company employee policies.

 

C.        EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

  1. Minimum 5 years experience in Sanitation, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or Regulatory field required.
  2. Minimum 5 years people management experience preferred. 
  3. USDA or FDA experience
  4. Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail. 
  5. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills. 
  6. Strong written/verbal communication/presentation skills.
