A Brief Overview PMC is home to Kentucky’s only Level II Trauma Center, the nation’s largest autism center offering ABA therapy, and Eastern Kentucky’s only Level II Advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Pikeville Medical Center has over 3,100 employees, 600 licensed medical providers and operates 11 Centers of Excellence. PMC nurses deliver compassionate, culturally effective care. Job Summary:
Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process, within established standards and practices for assigned patients. Responsibilities include direct patient care, evaluation of outcomes, and collaboration with other specialists to ensure optimal patient care.
Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Active RN license.
  • CPR certification required.
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; 5 years preferred.
  • Travel experience required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cardiac monitoring, sedation, pain management, and specialized IV drips.
  • Proficiency in pre- and post-cardiac cath care, chest tube care, and transfusion therapy.
  • Knowledge of TPN/PPN, COBRA, and KODA procedures.
  • Ability to access central lines and perform waive testing.
