About the Role:

The Sales Engineer serves as a key technical and commercial partner to the Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams, helping translate customer needs into accurate, competitive, and executable power distribution solutions. This role requires strong technical aptitude, customer-facing confidence, business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting and developing technical proposals, reviewing customer requirements, coordinating internal resources, and helping ensure that Maverick Power delivers solutions aligned with customer expectations, project requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and business objectives. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can communicate effectively with customers, external sales partners, engineers, production teams, and leadership. This role is ideal for a capable technical professional who is ready to take ownership of the sales engineering process, contribute to revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and develop into a trusted commercial and technical resource within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of accurate, complete, and commercially sound quotes, proposals, and technical documentation for power distribution solutions.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, one-lines, schedules, and project requirements to identify technical needs, risks, gaps, and solution requirements.
  • Engage directly with customers, external sales partners, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve questions, and align proposed solutions with customer goals.
  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Estimating, Production, and Operations to validate solution feasibility, pricing inputs, lead times, manufacturing constraints, and delivery expectations.
  • Apply technical and commercial judgment to support pricing accuracy, scope definition, documentation quality, and proposal competitiveness.
  • Manage quote activity and follow-up with urgency, ensuring timely responses and clear communication throughout the sales cycle.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, customer communications, quotes, and project details within HubSpot and other business systems.
  • Participate in customer calls, technical reviews, and commercial discussions as a knowledgeable representative of Maverick Power.
  • Support order handoff from Sales to Engineering and Production by ensuring required documentation, scope details, assumptions, and customer requirements are complete and clearly communicated.
  • Identify potential scope gaps, specification conflicts, commercial risks, and customer concerns early in the process and escalate appropriately.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers by listening actively, anticipating needs, and delivering responsive, value-driven support.
  • Represent Maverick Power with professionalism, urgency, accountability, and a customer-first mindset in all internal and external interactions.
  • Stay current on Maverick Power products, manufacturing capabilities, industry standards, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales engineering processes, proposal standards, CRM discipline, and customer communication practices.
  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to understanding customer needs, challenges, and goals while delivering solutions that create meaningful value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent technical or industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, estimating, project engineering, technical sales, electrical distribution, power equipment, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power equipment, switchgear, switchboards, transformers, panelboards, or related industrial electrical products.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, technical documentation, and project requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage professionally with customers, sales partners, internal teams, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot preferred.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment, identify risks, ask effective questions, and solve problems collaboratively.
  • Strong desire to grow within a technical commercial role and contribute directly to business results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in power distribution equipment, custom electrical manufacturing, data center infrastructure, utility, industrial, or commercial construction markets.
  • Prior experience developing technical proposals, commercial quotations, bid packages, or customer-facing project documentation.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical industry standards, including NEC, UL, ANSI, IEEE, or NEMA standards.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, production, and sales teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance customer requirements, technical feasibility, production capabilities, and commercial objectives.
  • Experience using HubSpot or other CRM, ERP systems, estimating tools, or other commercial and operational business systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
