Job description

The Foundation of Great Nursing
If you want to become a truly well-rounded nurse, this is where it starts.
The Medical Unit at Memorial is the largest unit in the hospital and one of the most dynamic places to grow your nursing career. With 29 beds and a wide variety of patients-including telemetry patients, stroke and cancer patients, post-pacemaker and ICD recoveries, and patients with both acute and chronic medical conditions-this unit offers the kind of experience that builds strong, confident nurses.
What makes this unit stand out is its range. One shift may involve caring for a patient with a new diagnosis, the next a complex chronic condition, and the next a post-procedure recovery. That variety keeps nurses engaged, sharpens critical thinking, and creates an environment where no two days are the same. Nurses on this unit also benefit from strong interdisciplinary collaboration and a team culture that values support, advocacy, and high-quality care.
This is a unit that invests in its nurses. From year-long onboarding support for newer nurses to specialty certifications like NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, and Med/Surg certification, the Medical Unit is committed to helping nurses build skills that will serve them for an entire career.
If you're looking for a fast-paced, team-oriented unit where you'll gain a wide range of experience and build the kind of foundation that opens doors anywhere in nursing, the Medical Unit is the place for you.
