Job description

LOCATION: Hybrid - 8 days a month in the office (see locations on the posting)

OVERVIEW

As an Associate Publisher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the life cycle of health-related publications; specifically, our megajournal Medicine and its companion titles, and our 3rd party author and editorial service offerings. You will assist with getting these high-impact products to market by performing foundational tasks (including peer-review support) that ensure integrity and quality. Your work supports our mission to provide top-tier health information to professionals and consumers, making a meaningful impact on public health outcomes.


RESPONSIBLITIES

Assist the Medicine Publisher with recruiting and onboarding new editors as needed

Support the Peer-Review process of Medicine including identifying and addressing articles requiring attention

Aid in the coordination and execution of editorial tasks

Manage certificates, letters and annual recognition emails for reviewers and editors as requested

Become proficient in the administrative tool for the electronic journals platform (eJP) and be responsible for basic site maintenance and for making necessary changes on journal sites

Assist in the preparation and formatting of health-related content for various publishing platforms.

Support the acquisition of initial requirements and background information for new publications and digital products.
Support 3rd party author and editorial services program by communicating services to the Publishing team, handling journal sign-ups to the service and act a first point of contact for the vendor.

Maintain organized records of document versions and revisions.
Conduct basic market research to support the development of new health publications.
Help prepare digital content for upload to online platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely publication schedules.
Assist in the creation of marketing materials to promote new publications.
Monitor and report on customer feedback to improve content quality.
Provide general administrative support to the publishing team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: BA or BS; or equivalent experience.

Experience: 1+ year experience in an Academic Publishing or Editorial role.

Compensation:

$40,500.00 - $69,150.00 USD

Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
