Job Description

We’re looking for Certified Medical Assistants who are excited to support high-quality, patient-centered care in a team-based outpatient medical clinic. In this role, you’ll provide both clinical and administrative support, helping prepare patients for examinations, assisting providers during visits and procedures, coordinating appointments and referrals, and supporting the efficient flow of patients throughout their care.

You’ll work collaboratively with clinic and office staff, RRH departments, external facilities, and contract and volunteer personnel while serving insured and uninsured children and adults, with special attention to individuals who may experience barriers to accessing care. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care support, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting providers during clinical procedures and visits.

  • Schedule appointments, manage medical records, process referrals, and handle patient communications.

  • Complete insurance and medication prior authorizations accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Support efficient and effective patient flow through collaborative planning and problem-solving with clinic and office staff, RRH departments, external facilities, and contract and volunteer personnel.

  • Comply with organizational policies, procedures, standards of care, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements.

  • Support RRH's mission and goals, organizational quality, and patient-centered care.

  • Incorporate RRH's core values of quality, respect, integrity, partnership, and compassion into activities and decisions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This role involves working closely with our team to deliver effective, patient-focused services and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant certification; certification must be maintained thereafter.

  • Experience in healthcare as a Medical Assistant preferred.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or within two months of hire.

  • Knowledge of office organization and basic clerical skills.

  • Experience with computers, computer systems, and PC Windows software.

  • Demonstrated maturity and capability for careful judgment.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language.

  • Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, and coworkers.
