Job description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Specialist  to join our healthcare team at a busy, multi-provider cardiovascular practice. In this role you will be responsible for managing all incoming referrals and medical records requests as well as obtaining hosptial records and medical records from other providers and medical facilities.  Transcription experience a plus.  The ideal candidate will be proficient in EClinicalWorks and be well versed in electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic/Expanse/Patient Keeper) and insurance portals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through meticulous record-keeping and data management.

Duties

  • Manage timely processing of medical records receipt (often urgently) and coordinate with Medical Assistants for multiple providers
  • Enter, update, and retrieve information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Ensure all medical documentation complies with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation for office visits and in-house procedures
  • Support administrative staff with data entry and record management tasks as required
