Certified or Registered Medical Assistant

Position Overview

The Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) supports the healthcare team in a professional and compassionate manner within the clinic setting. This role is responsible for delivering quality nursing care, administering immunizations, and providing health education to patients of all ages in accordance with established standards. The CMA/RMA prepares and escorts patients for examinations, obtains and documents vital signs and chief complaints, assists providers with procedures, and ensures accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Additional responsibilities include managing referrals and follow-up appointments, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, and coordinating care among the healthcare team. The CMA/RMA helps promote an efficient, safe, and patient-centered environment of care through teamwork, communication, and clinical expertise.

Qualifications

Required:

  • National CMA or RMA certification
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification (BLS)

Preferred:

  • One (1) year of practice experience as a CMA/RMA giving direct patient care
