Job description

Job Summary:

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain safe, secure and heathy work environment by establishing and following policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patient for exam by collecting medical history, vital signs and required clinical information.
  • Document current medications and all allergies for each patient.
  • Assist provider during testing, examinations and procedure(s) when needed.
  • Follow provider's instructions to complete patient treatment.
  • Provide and record all medications and immunizations ordered by provider and given to the patient.
  • Take patient specimen and conduct laboratory test(s) ordered by the provider.
  • Stock rooms.
  • Keep supplies ready by taking inventory of stock; communicate to the manager when an order needs to be placed.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering incoming calls, returning calls, verifying lab and x-ray reports are received.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required with Certification as a Medical assistant preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-year previous experience in a clinical or hospital environment preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent assessment skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work independently and effectively in a busy environment.
  • Knowledgeable of EMRs and regulatory practices.
