Job description

We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager-Network Operations to join Zions Bancorporation. The IT Infrastructure Manager-Network Operations plays a key role in our infrastructure team and broader technology organization.

The IT Infrastructure Manager-Network Operations will work with infrastructure leaders and engineers, Enterprise Architects, Information Security teams, banking system owners, and other technology stakeholders to support and deliver mission-critical services. You will cultivate partnerships with various technology teams and enterprise information security to evolve our capabilities in areas like cloud enablement, system resiliency, and automation. Your team will design, develop, configure, test, and support technology solutions in support of divisional and enterprise objectives and key results (OKR). 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Network team in support of critical business functions to meet organizational objectives.
  • Guide the Network team toward a journey to cloud principles and cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to improve operational efficiency, consistency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Cultivate relationships with all stakeholders including business, technology, risk, supply chain and operations.
  • Ensure the uptime and availability of the enterprise network infrastructure through proactive management of suppliers, hardware, software, monitoring systems and datacenter operations.
  • Ensure the Network team has the needed technical skills, competencies, business domain expertise, process knowledge, industry sector knowledge, and capacity to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, as needed, ensuring the vendors' performance and contributions align with organizational objectives and strategy.
  • Manage the total cost of ownership of the Network team including hardware, software, FTE and contractors, and professional services (responsible for P&L of cost center).
  • Serve as Product Owner/Project Manager (POPM) through Agile/Kanban-style value delivery system.
  • Other duties as assigned (including supporting On-call activities and change management responsibilities outside of normal business hours).

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years' experience in infrastructure network domain including interacting with relevant vendors (Cisco/Meraki, Arista, Palo Alto).
  • Experience leading and/or working with various network services and infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, DNS/DHCP, QOS, Cloud)
  • Experience with managing/leading enterprise-wide network infrastructure (LANS, WANS, WLANs, SDWANs, VXLAN, EVPN, Data Centers etc.)
  • Demonstrated success leading network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies, establishing standards and governance for automated provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle management across on-premises and cloud network environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud ready and cloud native contexts, both using on-prem technologies as well as public cloud service (e.g. Azure, AWS, IBM, GCP) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze and solve network connectivity problems through close attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial/banking systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related degree.  Professional Certifications (ex. CompTIA Network+, CCNA, etc.) are highly desired.
