What You'll Do
The MOCC Coordinator will serve as the primary implementation lead and liaison for the statewide Medical Operations Coordination Center (MOCC) under the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). Working alongside a contracted MOCC vendor and a broad network of trauma system partners, this role is responsible for coordinating the planning, development, and ongoing implementation of the MOCC - a statewide infrastructure designed to improve coordination of trauma care and support regional quality improvement across both trauma and non-trauma hospitals in Indiana.
MOCC Implementation & Oversight
  • Manage and provide oversight for the MOCC implementation.
  • Facilitate and assist with strategic planning for MOCC development and implementation.
  • Collaborate and assist MOCC leadership regarding operational needs, including software interoperability and communication resources.
  • Provide guidance and assistance with MOCC hiring/staffing and other personnel needs, as applicable.
  • Work with state agencies to advance the MOCC model and increase participation and utilization.

Stakeholder Coordination & Engagement
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement for MOCC development.
  • Act as a liaison between MOCC leadership and stakeholders across the continuum of care, including but not limited to hospital, EMS, rehab, 911/public safety, urgent care, and behavioral health.
  • Advance understanding and engagement with hospitals, EMS, 911/public safety partners, and MOCC operations statewide.
  • Collaborate with trauma stakeholders including the Indiana Trauma Care Commission and Subcommittees and EMS Commission for updates on progress and solution generation.
  • Incorporate interpersonal skills in communication with agency personnel, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Reporting & Grant Compliance
  • Provide necessary documentation and reporting based on federal grant guidelines.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related health field of study
  • Current/former certification as EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or other public safety professional such as 911 or dispatch telecommunications
  • Previous experience working with healthcare/EMS/911/public safety databases
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; experience with project management and system design
  • Possess significant process and people skills to appropriately perform the duties of the position
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative and think outside the box
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues to identify system-related problems and to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to guide and coordinate the work of others, including appointed staff and contractors
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to teach others and respond to stakeholder questions
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations within hospital, EMS, 911/public safety environments
