About us
Starr Regional Medical Center's Athens campus provides inpatient and outpatient services through its 118-bed acute care facility, outpatient rehabilitation services and physician practices.
How you'll contribute
A Monitor Technician who excels in this role:
  • Under the supervision of an RN, this person performs telemetry monitoring.
  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
  • Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
  • Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient. physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Print out rhythm strips and deliver them to the appropriate nursing floor.
  • Maintain rhythm logs.
  • Test equipment for proper working order.
  • Report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
  • Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant company and division policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Handle with Care class must be completed with 6 months of hire/transfer.
