The Medical Materiel Specialist II ensures all assets in medical War Readiness Materiel (WRM) allowance standards are accounted for and managed, establish levels for specific WRM assets on approved allowance standards for WRM assemblages, calculate and document basis of issue for mass casualty first aid bed expansion and force health protection programs, manage and exercise deferred procurement programs, ensure all assigned WRM assemblages are inventoried In Accordance With (IAW), regulatory requirements. Develop a WRM acquisition plan in advance of funding allocation, ensure all assigned WRM assemblages are stored as required; develop activation checklists for logistics activities, brief medical readiness committee on materiel status of all assigned contingency projects, conduct self-inspections, maintain shelf-life extension program, maintain support agreements, and maintain WRM continuity files. Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides technical expertise, recommendations, and written solutions to the Business Development Team to include but not limited to the following: โ€ข This medical material specialist works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from a higher-level medical materiel specialist, lead, or supervisor.
โ€ข Working independently (single location sites) and management oversight of other onsite contractor staff, coordinating logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM to include general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.
โ€ข General warehousing tasks, customer support, requisition, shipping, receiving, building medical kits, inventory management, QA and cargo preparation, and deployment, including medical controlled items stored in a secure location, operation of various materials handling equipment, and utilizing updating DoD MMIS records.
โ€ข Requires a basic understanding of inventory management, and medical logistics support instructions, policies, and regulations.
โ€ข Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
โ€ข This position summary is not intended to be exhaustive. โ€ข Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
โ€ข Travel up to 25% of the time as necessary. Required Skills/Abilities:
โ€ข Specialized experience shall include general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, assemblage management, warehousing, and operation of various materials handling equipment.
โ€ข The specialized experience shall be in a healthcare or healthcare support environment or setting. โ€ข Must have experience in using and running transactions in the MMIS.
โ€ข Must obtain annual influenza inoculations. Education:
โ€ข Associateโ€™s degree or higher or,
โ€ข Eight years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience. Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
