HealthTronics is looking for an experienced Laser Support Engineer to help strengthen and expand our medical laser service capabilities. This is a highly technical role for someone who knows medical laser equipment inside and out and enjoys troubleshooting complex problems, developing others, and helping build better service processes.

In this position, you'll work across technical service, training, parts support, documentation, and field operations. You'll develop and deliver technical training programs, provide advanced support to our Field Service Engineers and customers, perform repairs both in-house and in the field, and help us continue growing our laser service business.

Location:We are hiring nation-wide throughout the continental US. Candidates must be located within commuting distance of an airport for occasional travel.What You'll Do 
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver technical training programs covering the medical laser systems we service.

  • Serve as a technical resource for Field Service Engineers, Mobile Operations teams, internal staff, and customers.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of medical laser systems from multiple manufacturers.

  • Perform equipment service and repairs both in-house and at customer locations.

  • Partner with management to support the continued development and expansion of the laser service business.

  • Assist our Electronics and Production teams with developing capabilities to rebuild laser components and parts.

  • Help identify and develop third-party sources for laser replacement parts.

  • Communicate with equipment manufacturers regarding technical updates, field changes, warranty claims, and service information.

  • Maintain and organize technical documentation, manuals, service information, and training materials.

  • Create technical bulletins documenting solutions to complex or recurring service issues.

  • Conduct technical investigations to help resolve customer complaints and equipment concerns.

  • Help support compliance with applicable federal and state regulations governing medical equipment service.

  • Identify technical skill gaps within the field organization and recommend opportunities for additional training or support.

  • Complete special projects and technical assignments as needed.

What You'll Need
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on medical laser service experience.

  • Strong electronics and electromechanical troubleshooting background.

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of medical laser technologies from multiple manufacturers.

  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs for medical laser equipment.

  • Technical writing experience, including creating service documentation, procedures, or technical bulletins.

  • Understanding of equipment service contracts and service operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and provide timely resolutions.

  • Strong written, verbal, telephone, and email communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, manufacturers, and leadership, including during stressful situations.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple technical issues simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and develop creative solutions to complex problems.

What You Can Expect
  • Primarily indoor work environment Monday through Friday.

  • Occasional weekend work may be required.

  • Approximately 10-30% travel, depending on business and customer needs.

  • Occasional lifting of equipment or components weighing less than 50 pounds.

  • Regular computer and technical documentation work.
