Job description

Medical Laboratory Scientist (Blood Bank/Transfusion)

Location: Durham, NC area

Type: Full-time, permanent position

Shift: To be determined during the interview process

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of patient tests and provide administrative support for clinical operations within the healthcare facility
  • Perform blood bank testing, such as Type and Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping, and Antigen Typing
  • Manage product modifications including syringe aliquots and irradiation
  • Demonstrate expertise in following protocols for Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTP) and emergency release
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • Prior experience working in blood bank or transfusion services
Salary Range:

$26 to $45 per hour
