Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

The Medical Lab Technician performs test, inputs patient information and test results into computer, performs computer functions as needed and assist in other duties as directed by laboratory supervisor/manager. The Medical Lab Technician is proficient in one or more of the following disciplines as determined by departmental needs: Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Immunohematology (Blood Bank).

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Associate Degree
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months to 1year preferred not required.
  • Required Certification: Must possess MLT or equivalent certification, or be currently eligible to sit for MLT or equivalent certification exam.
  • Certification as MLT (ASCP) or equivalent is required within 180 days of hire.
  • Skills: Fundamental knowledge of laboratory medicine, leadership and business skills
