Facilitate communication between patients with limited limited English proficiency and healthcare providers by translating medical information accurately and confidentially. Provide accurate, complete, and impartial interpretation between patients and healthcare professionals in various medical settings (e.g., consultations, procedures etc.). Interpret both verbal and written communication, including medical histories, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up care instructions. Translate documents such as consent forms, discharge summaries, and educational material as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards as required by the institution and medical interpreting guidelines (HIPPA compliance). Ensure cultural sensitivity and respect during interactions, facilitating understanding between the patient and healthcare providers. Clarify any misunderstandings during communication to avoid errors and confusion, especially with medical terminology. Stay updated with medical terminology and industry standards in both English and Spanish languages. Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide linguistic support for the best patient care.
