Medical Assistant Paid Training Opportunity:

Exciting opportunity to learn new skills and be paid at the same time. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. is offering a full-time, in person, paid Medical Assistant training program which includes both classroom and clinical training thanks to a workforce pipeline fund. Classes offered virtually through CareerStep will prepare a learner to take the National Healthcareer Association's CMAA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) exam to gain certification. Hands-on training days will provide opportunities for observing as well as performing tasks such as rooming patients, obtaining and recording patient vitals, performing EKGs, and assisting providers in procedures and exams. Participants must commit to 16 weeks of in-person paid course work and a 100-hour paid internship to be completed at HealthFirst. Upon acceptance into the program, students will be required to sign a 2-year work commitment. Candidates submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a medical assistant. *Note: Successful completion of the program and internship does not guarantee employment.

Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a medical assistant
  • Provide 3 references and possess a clear background free of criminal offenses

  • High level of customer service and a positive approach to working with patients. Projects positive attitude about the department and the health center and offers services to ensure positive experience
  • Ability to maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • The Medical Assistant trainee must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills to effectively communicate with patients
