Job description

Prior experience as an ophthalmology/medical biller and knowledge of electronic medical records.

The Insurance Representative is responsible for any or all aspects of the patient claims and billing process for Gottlieb Eye Center. The Insurance Representative will review claims to ensure billing requirements are being met, provide follow-up on any concerns, determine and apply adjustments, answer inquiries and update accounts as necessary.

Requirements

• 1-3 years’ working experience in Medical Billing

• Need to know the most recent ICD10/CPT codes

• Background in Medicare / Medicaid and private insurance billing

• Proficient in EMR systems - E&M coding experience

• Knowledge of insurance including verification of eligibility, benefits, copays, coinsurance and deductibles.

• Posting insurance and patient payments.

• Handle all patient billing complaints, problems and concerns

• Determine eligibility for the patient and assist with referral issues

• Maintain Accounts receivable Report n Accounts receivable Report

• Review and take action on overdue accounts

• Assisting as a receptionist.
