Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs visual and basic dimensional inspections of manufactured parts to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards. This role uses a variety of measuring tools, follows blueprints and work instructions, and partners closely with production teams to maintain consistent product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of manufactured parts to identify defects, inconsistencies, or non-conforming materials.
  • Conduct basic dimensional inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, rulers, and tape measures to verify product specifications.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and work instructions to understand product requirements and inspection criteria.
  • Follow established quality standards and procedures during in-process and final inspections.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, non-conformances, and quality issues in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, logs, and quality documentation.
  • Support both in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with production teams to communicate quality issues and help resolve problems promptly.
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met throughout the production process.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with workplace safety and housekeeping guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, inspection, or a related environment, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, gauges, and tape measures.
  • Ability to read and follow basic blueprints and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail when performing visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Good communication skills to report findings and collaborate with production staff.
  • High level of reliability and commitment to consistent attendance and performance.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing or production environment with machinery and moderate noise.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30–40 lbs.
  • Willingness to use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in quality inspection or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with micrometers or other precision measuring tools.
  • Exposure to metal stamping, machining, or similar production environments.
  • Basic knowledge of quality standards, inspection processes, or quality control systems.
  • Technical training, trade school education, or coursework in manufacturing, quality, or a related field.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges in a production setting.
  • Experience working with blueprints and detailed work instructions.
  • Comfort working in a safety-focused environment that requires adherence to established procedures.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and production environment with regular exposure to machinery and moderate noise levels. Work hours follow a daytime schedule, with shifts typically running from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., providing structured and predictable working hours in a hands-on, shop-floor setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
