About the job:

Hourly rate: $19.50-$22.00

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

The primary purpose of the Medical Records Coordinator is to facilitate the maintenance of the participantsโ€™ medical record. Prioritizes, organizes and coordinates the acquisition of historical and current records of Senior Community Care participants (prospective and active) to meet regulations and the needs of staff.

Required Qualifications:ย To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of one year of experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Prior experience as a Medical Records Coordinator or administrative staff person with experience in an office setting
  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
  • Good listening and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNA, LPN/associateโ€™s degree preferred
  • Working on projects and standard workload without a lot of supervision in health care preferred.

Essentials:ย 

  • Obtain discharge summaries for ED, Inpatient, and Rehab stays, and upload into the EMR.
  • Communicate with appropriate people as necessary for exchange of information, clarification and follow-up.
  • Use discretion to protect the confidentiality of information regarding employees, participants, or families.
  • Oversee the scanning of documents in the EMR in a manner that ensures accessibility of medical information to IDT members.
  • ย Request, obtain and make records available for IDT use for all potential enrollees.
  • Ensure release of information is authorized prior to distribution of records to requesting party.
  • Compile and send requested information to governmental entities when requested.
