Job description

The Arthrex Medical Device Sales Representative is responsible for achieving predetermined sales goals and quotas within the Chicagoland area. The Sales Representative must maintain expert knowledge of the Arthrex product line relating to sports medicine and/or extremities and trauma.


The Sales Representative must assimilate and learn a high level of technical information, anatomy, and indications as it relates to surgery and procedures. The Sales Representative must be a highly motivated individual who will spend most of their time in the operating room interacting with both staff and surgeons.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Arthrex Chicago, the exclusive agency authorized to sell Arthrex products in the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. Arthrex is a world-class leader in the orthopedic industry.
  • Primarily responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives by working with a sophisticated audience comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate with current and new customers regarding a variety of topics, including; product updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational programs.
  • Identify the needs of new prospects, execute new sales plans, and effective marketing strategies to meet and exceed territory objectives.
  • Maintain training in sales skills, product features/benefits, and other critical business applications.
  • Address any problems that arise at the account.
  • Cross-sell additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available.
  • Work closely with managers by receiving coaching, training, and mentoring; transferring knowledge to peer Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Support compliance and the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, adhering to applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations, accreditation, and licenser requirements.
  • Collect competitive data and remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
  • Represent Arthrex Chicago at various industry meetings and tradeshows.
  • Attend training and labs.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience.
  • Must be comfortable in operating room environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to health care professionals within the orthopedic/sports medicine market.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Anatomy and physiology knowledge
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to manage inventory

  • Current Driverโ€™s license
