Job description

JOB TITLE: Medical Device Assembler / Manufacturing Cell Operator

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly precise, quality-focused, and dependable Medical Device Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Westfield, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of high-quality, life-saving medical devices within a controlled manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, you will perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies according to standardized procedures. This position requires excellent manual dexterity to handle small components, basic computer literacy, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform combination assembly, precision repair, and functional testing operations on pacemakers, ICDs, leads, and related medical device assemblies.
  • Execute routine production assignments exactly according to specified blueprints, standardized procedures, and written work instructions.
  • Ensure all relevant job documentation, manufacturing travelers, and quality records for cell operations are completely accurate, up to date, and traceable.
  • Review completed work continually and actively participate in lineside quality reviews to ensure all products meet strict engineering benchmarks.
  • Follow all corporate safety guidelines and properly utilize appropriate safety devices when performing cell operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, support Lean Manufacturing goals, and achieve profitability metrics.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with internal team members, cross-functional partners, and external customers during facility tours.
  • Support all corporate divisional initiatives in complete alignment with established Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Communicate lineside ideas, component problems, and production solutions clearly to all levels of manufacturing management in both written and oral formats.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven ability to read, comprehend, and follow highly detailed technical written procedures and understand complex verbal instructions.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity with the ability to handle, maneuver, and align small components and intricate parts safely.
  • Basic computer skills, including the understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and specialized software packages.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.
  • Strong attention to detail, personal reliability, and a safety-focused mindset in a highly regulated production environment.
  • Ability to make sound critical decisions and practical judgments regarding task sequencing and timing with minimal oversight.

COMPENSATION AND SHIFT DETAILS:

  • Job Location: 100% Onsite – Westfield, IN
  • 1st Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM | Compensation: $21.00 per hour
  • 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM | Compensation: $23.00 per hour
