Employment Type: Full-Time| 6 Month contract | W2
Shift: 5:00 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00 โ€“ $21.51/hour

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler to support our clientโ€™s manufacturing operations in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work within a manufacturing cell to assemble, repair, and test catheters and related medical device assemblies.

This position is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working with small components, following detailed procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and operating in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Work is performed under close supervision with a strong emphasis on product quality, safety, traceability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on catheters and related medical device assemblies.
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Handle and maneuver small components and parts with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality documentation to ensure product and component traceability.
  • Verify that manufacturing cell documentation and procedures remain accurate and up to date.
  • Identify and communicate production problems, quality concerns, and potential solutions to manufacturing management.
  • Use electronic data collection systems and applicable computer software to document manufacturing activities.
  • Prioritize assigned work based on production requirements, sequencing, and importance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives designed to improve production processes, quality, and operational performance.
  • Support manufacturing cell goals and performance metrics in collaboration with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager.
  • Apply basic Lean Manufacturing principles within daily operations.
  • Follow applicable Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with internal teams and visitors.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to maintain accurate manufacturing and quality records.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on production needs and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and judgments within assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a closely supervised, regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates must be able to comply with the clientโ€™s production-area gowning, cleanliness, and dress requirements. These requirements are designed to reduce contamination and safety risks and include:
  • Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and free of loose threads, frayed hems, glitter, sequins, tassels, or similar materials.
  • Sweaters, fleece, loose-knit, and other loose-fiber garments are not permitted in production areas.
  • Clothing from the waist up must fit underneath required lab coats or gowns.
  • Loose-fitting clothing may not be worn around machinery or soldering/brazing equipment.
  • Torsos, upper arms, and legs must remain covered in production areas.
  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required, along with socks or stockings. Heels may not exceed two inches.
  • Nail polish, acrylic/artificial nails, and similar nail coatings are not permitted.
  • Jewelry or body piercings that could pierce gloves or cannot be covered by gowning materials are not permitted.
  • Makeup and eyelash extensions are not permitted.
  • Scented personal-use products are not permitted, except deodorant.
  • Head coverings worn for customs or personal observance must meet applicable gowning and contamination-control requirements.
  • All required safety, cleanliness, gowning, and contamination-control procedures must be followed while in production areas.
