Assembler - Medical Devices
Location: Sandy, UT
Schedule: M-F 8am - 5pm
Pay Rate: $25/hour

LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY WITH ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY EXPERIENCE
Position Overview

This role supports engineering and manufacturing operations through mechanical assembly, sample builds, chemical mixing, testing preparation, and product characterization activities. The position plays a critical role in the development and fabrication of medical device components while ensuring adherence to quality standards, manufacturing procedures, and engineering protocols.

The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical assembly, manufacturing processes, chemical formulation mixing, and working in a regulated production environment. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow technical instructions, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and sample builds according to engineering protocols and work instructions
  • Mix chemical formulations and prepare materials for product development and testing activities
  • Utilize specialized equipment and tooling to heat-form catheter tips and shafts
  • Apply coatings to catheter products and lubrication to guidewires
  • Photograph, document, and characterize product samples
  • Prepare samples for conditioning, inspection, and testing
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment as required
  • Conduct quality inspections and verify products meet established specifications
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), scientific methods, and quality requirements
  • Accurately document production and testing activities
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or quality concerns to engineering and supervisory personnel
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Rotate into various production tasks and responsibilities as needed

Typical Day

After receiving training from engineering personnel on specific study protocols and build procedures, the Assembler will independently execute sample builds, characterization activities, and testing preparation tasks. Daily work includes assembling medical device components, mixing formulations, operating specialized equipment, documenting results, and ensuring products meet quality requirements. The role includes a standard full-time schedule with occasional overtime opportunities available.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English-language work instructions and specifications
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently after training while maintaining quality and productivity standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and product builds

  • Basic troubleshooting experience with manufacturing equipment
