Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Birminghan, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to support application modernization initiatives within a large, enterprise environment. This role will focus primarily on C#/.NET development, SQL, application support, and CI/CD pipeline development, with an emphasis on modernizing legacy applications and improving deployment processes.
Summary:
The ideal candidate has strong experience working with .NET Framework and .NET Core, understands application modernization, and is comfortable supporting applications in a production environment. Experience migrating or supporting applications across .NET Framework 4.5 through 4.8 is highly preferred. This is a fully remote, 12-month contract opportunity. Candidates must be able to work Central Time Zone hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and modernize applications using C# and .NET
* Support applications built on .NET Framework and .NET Core
* Assist with modernization and migration of legacy applications, including .NET Framework 4.5-4.8 environments
* Develop and maintain SQL-based backend solutions
* Provide application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in an enterprise environment
* Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
* Support applications deployed through OpenShift
* Collaborate with development and engineering teams to improve application reliability, deployment efficiency, and maintainability
* Participate in troubleshooting and production support activities as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong professional experience with C# and .NET development
* Experience with .NET Framework and/or .NET Core
* Experience working with SQL and relational databases
* Experience supporting applications in an enterprise or production environment
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes
* Experience working with or modernizing legacy applications
* Ability to work remotely while maintaining Central Time Zone working hours
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience migrating or supporting applications from .NET Framework 4.5 through 4.8
* Experience with Harness or similar CI/CD deployment tools
* Experience with MuleSoft
* Experience with Okta authentication
* Experience deploying applications to OpenShift
* Experience within banking, financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries
* Experience working in a large enterprise environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
