Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Drafter

Schedule: 40 hr work week. 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Entry-level mechanical engineers with strong drafting skills • Or 4+ years of experience in mechanical design industries (e.g., aerospace, defense).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, and tooling design.
• Experience with revision control and drawing standards.
• Medical device experience not required.
Job Description:
• Located in Texas at a site that supports both R&D and manufacturing.
• Products supported include Intelliblade (microwave ablation) and cryotherapy systems for cancer treatment.
This position will provide design and drafting support to the R&D, Sustaining R&D and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
* Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications.
* Participates in reviewing engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to drafting standards.
* Creates CAD design layouts and detail drawings of products, including PCB layout.
* Retrieves information from file and displays on computer, using required computer language.
* Displays final drawings to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy.

Major Responsibilities:
Produce drawings and documents using SOLIDWORKS software.
Perform engineering design calculations.
Work with cross-functional team to collect project information and communicate findings both orally and in writing.
Work as a team member on various projects.
Design and produce 3D printed fixtures for manufacturing, testing, etc.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Vocationally trained positions that need both practical and theoretical understanding and some significant advanced vocational experience to perform broad range of varying tasks and issues, in related field of work. Work performed is still procedure based, however issues and problems arising needs accountable addressing and solution by incumbent. Broad scope of tasks and accountabilities within one functional area needs to be managed by senior experienced incumbent. Non-routine inquiries and issues occur regularly and need to be solved instantly, with a certain degree of authority and bindingness towards (internal and external) customers.
Skills Include:
Creating complex parts & drawings, assemblies in SolidWorks or other drafting applications (Solid Edge, Pro E).
Experience with PDM system administration within SolidWorks, Windchill, PTC Creo, or Siemens Teamcenter.
Training in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Must be hands-on in the lab, building parts or prototyping.
Associate's degree in drafting or STEM.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with medical device design control and the medical device industry.
Junior to mid-level engineers who are strong in drafting.
Bachelor's degree or associate’s degree with years of experience (exceptions can be made).
Experience: Additional specialized qualification + 4 to 8 years exp. needed.
Knowledge: Has theoretical understanding and broader practical skills in the related field of work and needs to apply practical methods, concepts and techniques, work procedures and processes
