About the Role:
Orange County Ophthalmology is looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Medical Customer Service representative to join our growing team in Garden Grove, CA. Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist patients in person, by phone, and via electronic communication in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and process authorizations for ophthalmology services
  • Collect and accurately enter patient demographic and medical information into the EHR system
  • Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and efficiency
  • Process co-pays, billing inquiries, and coordinate with the billing department as needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology, optometry, or specialty medical office procedures is a plus
  • Knowledge of medical insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes
