About the Opportunity

FocusPoint is partnering with a well‑established healthcare organization to identify an experienced Medical Credentialing Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, compliance‑driven environment and enjoys ensuring that provider records meet all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. The position supports a high‑volume credentialing operation and plays a key role in maintaining provider eligibility and organizational readiness.

Position Summary

The Medical Credentialing Specialist oversees the full lifecycle of provider credentialing and re‑credentialing. This includes primary source verification, documentation management, database accuracy, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The specialist ensures that all provider information is current, complete, and compliant with internal and external standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end credentialing and re‑credentialing processes for healthcare providers.
  • Conduct primary source verification to confirm provider qualifications, licensure, training, and certifications.
  • Track and manage license renewals, ensuring all credentials remain active and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date provider files and documentation.
  • Utilize credentialing databases, reporting tools, and document management systems to track status and maintain data integrity.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in data entry and credentialing workflows.
  • Provide backup support to credentialing team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • Prior experience as a Credentialing Specialist within the healthcare industry (required).
  • Demonstrated experience credentialing healthcare providers in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of credentialing standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation expectations.
