Senior CopywriterPosition Purpose

Bring the Zurn Elkay brand and its trade brands to life by creating compelling, brand-forward B2B and B2C copy across digital and print media in support of marketing and business objectives. Act as a collaborative, creative partner to marketing, communications, sales and business teams, helping translate complex information into clear, compelling messaging. Steward and strengthen the brand voice across the company and its trade brands, applying sound judgment, storytelling ability and writing craft to elevate communications and ensure clarity and credibility. Bring a high standard of quality, versatility and creative problem‑solving to the work, with a strong commitment to precision, innovation and continuous improvement. Support broader corporate communications priorities, contributing where strong, creative messaging is needed to make an impact.

Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with colleagues in Channel Marketing, Product Marketing and Sales to deeply understand business goals and translate them into bold, strategic communications—owning the full lifecycle of the work, from ideation to final execution.
  • Craft and deliver powerful, brand‑elevating content across channels, collaborating cross‑functionally with designers, photographers, developers and other creative partners.
  • Drive the development of high‑impact, multi‑channel copy across formats—including but not limited to omni‑channel campaigns, social and display advertising, print collateral, direct mail, product descriptions, white papers, landing pages, catalog entries, blog posts, social media content and training scripts—ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to and lead brainstorming sessions to develop creative concepts and messaging solutions that support strategic goals.
  • Protect and strengthen the brand by upholding style and messaging guidelines across all work.
  • Organize and maintain messaging platforms, ensuring content is consistent, current and accessible across the company, and adapt messaging based on feedback or strategic shifts.
  • Research, interview and craft compelling testimonials and case studies that reflect the successful implementation of products and solutions.
  • Edit and proofread communications for grammar, spelling, punctuation, AP style, clarity and consistency.
  • Lead copy direction in a highly collaborative, fast‑moving environment, asking thoughtful questions and adapting confidently to evolving priorities and business needs.
  • Present and defend copy recommendations and creative rationale to partners and stakeholders while managing deadlines, priorities and multiple assignments with a strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or a related field.
  • 5-7 years relevant experience in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Proficiency in AP Style, Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management platforms a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, openness to feedback, and a collaborative mindset essential to thriving in a cross‑functional creative environment.
  • Strategic and conceptual thinker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with strong project and time management skills.

  • Owns the draft through completion, building consensus and agreement.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in tagging, keyword usage, headline creation and basic search optimization.
