Job Summary : Patient Account Specialist Senior (Onsite)
- Provides medical collection services for TLRA collection units, focusing on account resolution for accounts placed with TLRA for collection.
- Performs collection activities related to follow-up and account resolution, including communication with patients, clients, reimbursement vendors, and other external entities.
- Ensures adherence to all client, state, and federal guidelines during collection processes.
- Aims for high patient and client satisfaction while resolving account issues.
- Demonstrates knowledge of overall collection work processes for both active Accounts Receivable (AR) and Bad Debt (BD) inventory.
- Collects balances due from commercial and/or governmental insurance and third-party payers to ensure proper reimbursement for services.
- Identifies denied or underpaid claims and pursues timely and appropriate resolution within payer guidelines.
- Maintains active knowledge of payer claims processing, appeal procedures, provider contracts, and various payment methodologies.
- Demonstrates familiarity with standard billing forms, filing requirements, explanation of benefits (EOB), and online payer portals.
- Identifies and communicates issues and trends that impact account resolution and reimbursement.
- Requires 3-5 years of experience in a customer service call center environment, specifically in healthcare billing/collections or a collection agency.
