Shawnee Health - Certified Professional Coder

Shawnee Health is seeking a Certified Professional Coder for our Shawnee Health Remote Billing office. This position reports directly to the Assistant Revenue Cycle Manager.
Responsibilities
• Completes coding and posting of charges for all provider specialties and payer types utilizing the patient encounter information as directed by physicians and medical records notes.
• Completes coding and posting for all hospital related visits and surgeries.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of coding rules and regulations by CMS, AMA, ADA and Medicaid.
• Conducts coding audits and reports feedback back to clinicians for educational and compliance purposes.
Requirements
• High School Diploma
• Certified Professional Coder certification (CPC or CPC-A)
• Must maintain CEUs for CPC certification
• Must reside in Illinois
• Must live within a 50-mile radius of Carterville, Illinois
Starting salary - $18-$19.10
Full-time employee benefits include:
• 12 vacation days earned in the first year
• 11 paid personal days/holidays per calendar year
• 6 sick days earned per year
• Retirement plan with 3% company contribution after becoming eligible in the plan (a matching contribution by the employee is not required to receive this benefit). Additional profit-sharing contributions to the retirement plan are possible. Employee deferrals to the 401(k) and Roth plan available
